What is the Best Landing Page Builder?
Here are our top picks for the best landing page builders to try this year:
- 10XPRO — best of the best
- LeadPages — best bang for the buck
- GrooveFunnels — best free alternative
- Unbounce — best for power users
- Thrive Architect — best for WordPress users
Our Verdict — Best Of The Best
10XPRO has overtaken the leader in the landing page builder industry (ClickFunnels). It’s easy-to-use drag and drop builder and full-funnel marketing campaigns make it the tool of choice for the most savvy online marketers today (both beginners and pros).
Get 10XPRO if you're looking for the best out-of-the-box experience, quick-and-easy setup, simple pricing structure, and you’re not techy. You’ll get fully working landing pages, sales pages, and even full-blown marketing campaigns, pronto.
If you're looking to setting up one simple landing page to get yourself a few leads, try something simpler such as GrooveFunnels to start with.
I recommend you get started with the 30 day trial for $1, then go on the $197 monthly plan. When you get the hang of it and it’s making you money, upgrade to the yearly plan for $1,799 (and save $565 over a full year).
(30 day trial for $1)
What We Like
Every Landing Page You Need
Whether you’re a sales funnel mogul or you’re about to give birth to your very first landing page, 10XPRO has got your needs covered.
With 10XPRO’s simple-to-use drag and drop builder you can easily create:
- Optin pages
- Content pages
- Sales pages
- Order pages
- Upsell pages
- Thank you pages
- Webinar pages
- Launch pages
- Website pages
- Article pages
- Live streaming pages
- Course pages
- Forum pages
- Podcast pages
- Privacy policy pages
- And more!
Every single page is mobile-optimized and responsive so you don’t need to mess around editing the mobile and tablet versions of your pages.
You can get started with 10XPRO’s pre-designed templates so you’re not starting from a blank slate, then customize the pages any way you like.
With ClickFunnels (the market leader), you’d need to pay $297/mo to get unlimited pages and funnels. With 10XPRO, it’s only $197/mo for unlimited everything.
Deploy Full Funnel Marketing Campaigns With One Click
10XPRO makes it easy to deploy full funnel marketing campaigns (i.e. a series of landing pages designed around a specific goal), which are proven to convert in one click.
John Lint, who founded 10XPRO, makes sure every landing page funnel is battle-tested in many markets for conversions, before adding them to 10XPRO’s campaign library.
Here are some of the full funnel marketing campaigns you can instantly add:
- Your Website — to quickly setup your own brand website
- Live Sale — to get a burst of sales during a limited time
- Quick Sale — to sell your courses
- List Builder — to grow your email list
- Self-Liquidating Offer — to sell a low-ticket offer, then two 1-click upsells
- Viral Share — to offer a bonus in exchange for sharing your content
- Live Launch — to launch a new product
- Auto Launch — to launch a new product and automate it
- Live Webinar — to get more live webinar registrations and sales
- Evergreen Webinar — to put your live webinar into an evergreen promotion
- Just In Time Webinar — to make your live webinar start every 15 minutes
- Virtual Summit — to run your own virtual summit
- Book Funnel — to sell your book
- Membership Site — to get more membership site sales
- Membership Offer — to offer a free course when someone joins your membership
If you want any of these marketing campaigns in your business, then 10XPRO has a campaign for it with all the landing pages pre-created.
You can even accept payments, offer 1-click upsells, downsells, offer bumps, and share your funnels with your friends.
The Easiest-To-Use Page Builder
10XPRO’s page builder is intuitive and easy to get the hang of compared to other popular page builders. As you update your pages, you can use their modular “blocks” to add new functionality.
All the basics are in there, such as headlines, text, bullet lists, videos, and images. But you also get advanced page elements like buttons, forms, countdown timers, progress bars, pricing tables, SMS signup forms, 2-step order forms, and more.
With ClickFunnels’ page builder you get similar functionality, but the editor lacks the same flexibility.
Sometimes you can’t add an element quite where you want it to go. At other times, a widget or column won’t snap precisely where it should, and then you have to drag it to the place you originally intended it to snap to.
What We Don’t Like
No Migration Service
If you’ve already built 10+ landing pages using another tool, you will need to manually recreate them all on 10XPRO’s platform.
It’s easy to do, but I’d love if they had a free migration service (like popular email marketing tools do).Even if 10XPRO offered a paid migration service (or free migration on their yearly plan), it’d be well worth the investment.
However, from all my research no landing page builder offers this (not even ClickFunnels on their $2,497/mo plan).
Old School Design
Although it’s mostly nitpicking, some of the landing page templates and appearance in my opinion leave something to be desired. They aren’t the best-in-class for design, and in some cases appear plain or even a little dated.
For example this sales page template has everything you need to convert, but the design of the countdown timer, fonts and page colors could definitely use an upgrade to look more modern.
Most of this you can mod out with your brand colors and custom graphics, but it seems as if they focus their resources on functionality at the expense of form… not that that’s a terrible thing.
Entry-Level Pricing
As much as I love their pricing model simplicity, it'd be nice having an entry-level plan, along with beginner-friendly pricing for those new entrepreneurs who haven’t made their first $1,000/mo online yet, and therefore can’t quite justify the $197 USD/mo investment.
10XPRO does replace enough tools to more than compensate for its price, IF, and this is a big if, you’re already using or planning to use its full suite of tools.
If you don’t plan to use your landing pages to make sales or don’t yet make $1,000/month online, I suggest you set a goal for yourself and buckle the heck down during the first 30 day $1 trial period, grow your online business to those $1,000/mo so that then you can fund your ongoing investment in 10XPRO.
For some complete beginners however who need to learn content marketing and paid traffic from scratch, 30 days might not be enough time to get enough organic/paid traffic and find a funnel and offer that converts.
10XPRO Reviews From Experts
Angela Henderson
Angela Henderson Consulting
10XPRO welcomes creativity and originality. While they do have templates available, they also give you free rein to customize to your heart’s content. This means that just because you use 10XPRO, doesn’t mean all of your marketing strategies will look identical to everyone else’s.
Stevie Dillon
Stevie Says Social
Over time, I’ve been able to start off small, and build a growing empire inside of 10XPRO. All of their funnels are drag and drop, all of the tech is sewn together for you, and as you grow it grows with you. It’s the most advanced software out there, but it’s simple and easy too.
David Kilkelly
Kung Fu Content
I’m actually using it to build my website as well. I originally thought I was going to need to have the website hosted on WordPress and pay for a web host. The more I played with the platform… I realized I could do the entire site on 10XPRO. It looks nice as well.
(30 day trial for $1)
Our Verdict — Best Bang For The Buck
Starting at a reasonable $37 a month for unlimited pages, Leadpages is one of the cheapest ways for you to serve an unlimited number of landing pages and pop-ups to an unlimited number of visitors.
Get it if you’re on a tight budget and don’t need a whole lot of design flexibility, but still want a strong focus on lead conversions.
If you plan on doing something more advanced like having sales funnels with upsells and orders bumps, you should check out 10XPRO.
I recommend you start with the $37/month “Standard” plan, then upgrade to annual pricing ($27/month) as you grow, to save some bucks.
(free 14 day trial)
What We Like
Generous Standard Plan
Even though the cheapest plan (starting at $37/mo) doesn’t offer some of the advanced features like A/B testing or payments, Leadpages has taken their basic plan a step further than most competitors.
You get unlimited pages and visitors on this cheap plan ($60/mo cheaper than ClickFunnels’ entry-level plan), which is a delight… although you can only use one custom domain with it.
On top of landing pages, you also get pop-ups and alert bars, which are both great tools to get leads joining your email list.
Lots Of Templates
Leadpages has dozens of high converting page templates. To make it better, you can also use a bunch of different “page section” templates.
There are 100+ blocks, which are prebuilt sections you can easily drag and drop onto any website or landing page you’re building inside Leadpages.
What I love most about their templates is how neatly they’re categorized (and how they can be sorted by conversion rate). Think “Fitness Challenge Opt-In Page”, “Real Estate Video Page” or “High Converting Webinar.”
Many Advanced Features Without Being Overwhelming
Leadpages offers some very unique features, which can be eye-catching for some.
You get SMS marketing, Leadlinks (people can click a link inside someone else’s email and get added to your email list), landing page analytics, and a Facebook ads creator.
Regardless of all the features, they’ve managed to still keep the software easy-peasy to use. Just look at the simplicity of the user interface from inside my account:
What We Don’t Like
Kinda-Clunky Page Editor
If you happen to be very particular about how you want your page to look, you may struggle with Leadpages’ interface.
When you drop elements, they’ll snap in place automatically. Which can be a good thing, but not if you’re looking for a super flexible editor. On top of that, the editor can feel laggy, sluggish at times. And it can get wonky every now and then, with elements snapping into the wrong places.
It should not be a deal breaker, but just be prepared to wrestle with the drag-and-drop editor, from time to time.
No Way To Collect Sales On The Standard Plan
If you’re just looking to create some landing pages to generate leads, or if you already have a shopping cart tool to sell your products, then this won’t be a problem for you.
You’ll be able to see analytics for your lead conversions with no worries:
But if you’re looking to create full-blown sales funnels, and sell your products from your Leadpages account… then you’ll need to let go of the “Standard” plan and commit at least to the “Pro” plan (starting at $59/month).
When you upgrade you’ll be able to start accepting payments on any of your pages, and see an “Earnings” column added inside your analytics.
Subpar Support On Standard Plan
This is somewhat of a bummer. Leadpages actually has amazing support. But it’s not 100% on the Standard plan.
For example, all users get email support… but you have to be on the “Pro” plan to get live chat support, and only users on the “Advanced” plan get phone support.
In fact, Advanced users get access to one-on-one coaching calls with the support team, which can be really helpful. Even though their support through email tends to be surprisingly fast, I still feel a bit weird not being able to talk to support over live chat.
Leadpages Reviews From Experts

Niche Pursuits
Leadpages is a good deal for startups given the reasonable $27 entry point. If you need sleek, responsive landing pages quick, Leadpages will deliver just that. The quirks of Leadpages’ site builder tool bug me.
Miri Colman
Website Planet
Leadpages is user-friendly and takes integrations and analytics very seriously. It is, however, slightly lacking in the ability to customize fonts in order to align the page with your other existing marketing and sales materials.

Leadpages is a great tool if you want to create landing pages and sales pages that convert and grow your email list fast. It’s ideal for small businesses.

Our Verdict — Best Free Alternative
GrooveFunnels is the best way for you to start building your landing pages for free. Plus, you get a shopping cart, which allows you to sell your products with sales boosting upsells and order bumps.
Get it if you’re just starting out, or are looking for a free tool to test some new funnels and pages.
If you need more functionality or are too picky about user experience... or if you’re looking for a more “pro grade” alternative, then I suggest you go with something more robust like 10XPRO.
I recommend you create a free GrooveFunnels account and try it out. If it makes sense and you’re getting value out of it, upgrade to the lifetime account for $1,397 (or 12 payments of $249).
(free lifetime access)
What We Like
Generous Free Lifetime Plan
If you’re looking for a free solution, look no further. It’s pretty crazy what GrooveFunnels offers for free.
You can have 3 different websites, add 3 custom domains, have access to their shopping cart to sell your products, unlimited pages, and unlimited bandwidth.
You could actually kickstart an entire sales funnel through the GrooveFunnels’ free plan.
Blocks And Elements FTW
The pre-made blocks are abundant and organized.
A lot of them look really good, and unless you have some very specific need, it’s likely that most features you need on a landing page are already on the done-for-you blocks.
Countdown timers, pricing tables, checkout forms… You can literally build up your page, block by block, so later you can add your own content.
Sell Unlimited Products On Your Pages
When you create your account with GrooveFunnels, you get more than just GroovePages, which is the landing page builder.
One of the coolest apps you also get is GrooveSell. It’s a pretty solid shopping cart solution that allows you to sell unlimited products to unlimited customers, send free transactional emails and even one cart abandon email per abandoned cart.
You can create funnels, upsells, downsells, order bumps, connect payment gateways like Stripe and PayPal, manage and export your customer data… you can even get a free affiliate program so you can get others selling your products.
What We Don’t Like
They’re Still “Under Construction”
The page builder (and many other apps) are still in beta, which means they haven’t been fully developed yet.
You can get an eventual bug here and there, and you might feel like you’re missing some blocks or template options, at times.
Gotta Pay $1,397 To Upgrade
Some people might need to go past the free plan’s limitations:
- “Built with GrooveFunnels” sticky message on the bottom of every page.
- You can only have 3 websites.
- You can only upload up to 10 videos.
- Some apps are only available on the Pro plan, such as “GrooveKart”, which is an ecommerce solution.
To me, one of the most annoying things in the free plan is the “This site was built with GrooveFunnels” tag they add on all of your pages.
When it comes down to upgrading, their pricing feels like it’s a no go for most people. It’s because their monthly plans are still not available, and they’re only selling lifetime access to their product, while it’s still in beta.
In order to upgrade to the pro version, you can choose between paying:
- 1 x $1,397 (one-time payment)
- 4 x $497 ($1988 total)
- 6 x $388 ($2328 total)
- 12 x $249 ($2988 total).
This might feel a bit pricey to people who are looking for a free plan in the first place.
The Interface Could Use Some Work
Maybe it’s just me? But the interface does not feel very intuitive.
When you login and go onto your account dashboard, you gotta know where to click… and then, you need to click two or three times before you can get into the page builder.
The builder also can get buggy sometimes, with misclicks, weird responses, and even having some elements on the final page out of place, even though it looks good on the builder.
The best way around that is, instead of trying to create all elements from the ground up, use their ready-made blocks as much as you can.

Our Verdict — Best For Power Users
Unbounce started in 2009, back when “landing pages” was just a cute buzzword. One could say they’ve invented the whole “landing page builder” industry, as they were the first ones to market.
Get it if you’re a landing page pro, or a thriving business looking to scale.
If you’re just getting started or don’t have a big budget for a page builder, go with Leadpages instead.
I recommend you get the 14 day free trial, then upgrade to the “Launch” plan for $80/month. If you need A/B testing, start with the “Optimize” plan for $120/month.
(free 14 day trial)
What We Like
The Best Lead Generation Tools
Acquiring leads is one of the secrets for businesses that want to really grow. Sadly, some landing page builders make it really hard to capture your leads in strategic ways, like when they're about to leave your page.
Unbounce makes it easy to set up as many popups and sticky bars as you wish, and then further refine to whom you want to show them to… at what exact moment.
The Best Speed & Performance
Unbounce doesn’t joke around when it comes to page load speed. Their optimized hosting setup, the “speed boost” technology and the image optimization features make most pages load in just a few seconds.
They even thrown in a dedicated CDN, which optimizes the delivery of bigger files for your visitors, depending on where they are physically located.
Finally, they offer AMP pages, which are optimized to be a lot faster on smartphones, which represent about half the web traffic these days.
The Best Enterprise-Grade Security
Unbounce really goes the extra mile to make sure your data and business are secure.
Stuff like GDPR compliance, automatic SSL encryption, and the focus on ensuring all your forms and transactions are secure.
I also love the two-factor authentication, which allows you to use a trusted device, such as your smartphone, to confirm your login attempts.
What We Don’t Like
Mobile Page Auto-Optimization Hiccups
Unbounce is 100% mobile responsive. Once you create a landing page, it will automatically create a mobile version out of your work.
The problem is, the auto desktop to mobile conversion can be a little inaccurate. 20% of the time, the elements don’t line up correctly on the auto generated mobile version and you need to drag them into place to make it look right.
Limitations On Lower Plans
The limit of 20,000 visitors per month and only 500 tracked conversions on the entry-level $80/mo plan is a little off-putting, in my opinion.
You also don’t get A/B testing or AMP pages unless you go with the higher priced plans.
Steeper Learning Curve
Even though Unbounce is designed for convenience, it took me a bit longer to get comfortable with their interface, when compared to 10XPRO.

Our Verdict — Best For WordPress Users
Thrive Architect offers an insane amount of features for an incredible price. It comes with over 320+ templates and pre-made blocks, so you can build your landing page just the way you need it.
If you’re already a WordPress user and need to create high converting landing pages… then Thrive is the perfect solution for you. It’s what I personally use on the Content Mavericks site.
If you have no idea on how to work with a WordPress site, then you’re better off with a standalone solution, like 10XPRO.
I recommend you buy one license to Thrive Suite for $30/month ($90 paid quarterly). If you love it, upgrade to the yearly plan for $19/month ($228 paid yearly).
($90/quarter)
What We Like
Low Price
Thrive Architect costs a low $19/month ($228 paid yearly) as part of the complete Thrive Suite. That’s it. The features you get out of this page builder are worth waaaaay more than its price tag.
Plus, you’ll get these add-ons (and more):
- Thrive Optimize - to A/B test your landing pages
- Thrive Leads - to build an email list off your landing pages
- Thrive Ultimatum - to create evergreen countdowns on your landing pages
Build Landing Pages Like Lego
With Thrive Architect, you don’t just get a badass page builder. You also get excellent support, including step-by-step videos on pretty much any button you can click in the software.
You get 278+ page templates plus 320+ building blocks (e.g. progress bars, table of contents, star ratings, etc), so you can build your landing page as if it were “Lego”. Here’s an example of how I built my “Products” page with headlines, text, progress bars and buttons:
Thrive Architect is fully responsive. You can build specific pages for desktop, tablets, or smartphones on the same builder, if you wish. The auto-generated mobile pages are actually pretty good as is, only sometimes needing a little tweak.
You Own It
Once you buy it (paid quarterly for $90 or yearly for $228), it’s yours for life. Even if you cancel you won’t lose access to the tools or your content. You just won’t get any more software updates or support.
This is what truly sets Thrive Architect apart from similar landing page builders for WordPress that offer similar features.
What We Don’t Like
Price (For Support)
It’s kinda funny that the price section made it to both the “what I like” and the “what I don’t like” sections of this review… But this can be a bit annoying for some.
The thing is, when you buy Thrive Suite (to get access to Thrive Architect), you get unlimited free email support… and their support is fantastic.
If your subscription is no longer in good standing, though, you gotta resubscribe to keep getting access to support.
Honestly, if you enjoy it as much as I do (hey, you’re on a Thrive Architect page right now)... then it might be worth maintaining an active Thrive Suite membership for $19/month.
I personally also use their Thrive Headline Optimizer tool for headline testing, Thrive Optimize tool for a/b testing, and Thrive Comments tool for blog comments.
It’s Limited To WordPress
This is NOT a standalone tool. You need to have a WordPress site set up in the first place to take advantage of Thrive Architect.
This means, you got to pay a separate bill for web hosting… and you gotta know your way around WordPress, at least a little bit.
Since people always ask me, my web hosting for WordPress is BigScoots, and I highly recommend them.
There’s A Bit Of A Learning Curve
It will take you a little practice to get used to Thrive Architect. Even more so if you're new to WordPress.
Stuff like when to use a content box vs a page section. It will be a little hit and miss and, eventually, you’ll need a couple of minutes watching a tutorial video.
Once you get the hang of the editor though, it’ll not only allow you to create high converting landing pages (and blog posts) just the way you want them… but it will be super fast and simple to do so.

Top 10 Landing Page Builder Questions
What Is A Landing Page Builder?
A landing page builder is what you use to build web pages that convert visitors into leads and customers. Landing pages are usually used by performance marketers, as they allow results to be measured and optimized.
What Is The Best Landing Page Builder?
The best landing page builder is 10XPRO. 10XPRO gives you everything you need to run an online business for one very reasonable price. Pricing is simple — $197 USD per month for everything (no complicated pricing tiers).
What Is The Cheapest Landing Page Builder?
The cheapest landing page builder is Leadpages. Starting at $37 USD per month, you get access to unlimited pages with unlimited visitors, and a ton of integrations.
What Is The Best Free Landing Page Builder?
The best free landing page builder is GroovePages, which is part of the GrooveFunnels suite. It’s totally free for unlimited pages and unlimited bandwidth, and it even comes with a shopping cart solution for you to sell your products.
How Do I Choose The Best Landing Page Builder?
The five most important factors you should consider when choosing the best landing page builder service are:
- Mobile optimization - being able to edit what and how to display your page to different screens can make a huge difference in conversions.
- Number of pages you can build - which dictates how many different campaigns and angles you’ll be able to test.
- Templates and blocks - these make getting your landing pages up easier and quicker.
- Price - how does the price compare to the features and benefits you get.
- Unique Features - do you want to have countdown timers? Do you want to sell and serve your own products all in one place? Do you want something you can use with WordPress? Pick based on your specific needs.
What Makes A Good Landing Page?
A good landing page should capture attention with a great headline, generate interest with a big idea, promise a desired result, and have one clear call to action.
How Can I Make My Landing Page Attractive?
You can make your landing page attractive by having a clean design. It should clearly state who it is for, and what will happen to the people who read and take action. To make it more attractive, add trust signals, like endorsements, reviews, and testimonials.
How Long Does It Take To Build A Landing Page?
It can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few months to build a landing page, depending on your needs, your tool of choice, and your experience.
If you already have the content written (inside a website content template) and just need to set up a page on a landing page builder, you can dramatically shorten the time you need to build a landing page that looks good, and converts.
Is A Landing Page The Same As A Website?
A landing page isn’t the same as a website. A website might look similar, but they usually serve very different purposes.
Websites usually are an “online catalog”, with all the information about a given company or product (e.g. home, about, products, contact pages). A landing page is focused on influencing the visitor to take one, single action - which could be to purchase, signup via email, or call.
Are Landing Pages Bad For SEO?
Landing pages aren’t bad for SEO. While landing pages are not usually written to rank, most landing page builders let you set up all basic SEO optimizations like an SEO title, meta description, and custom URL slug on your own website domain.
The only time landing pages are bad for SEO is when you host the page somewhere other than your top-level domain (e.g. on a subdomain or on your landing page providers domain). In this case, the domain authority of your site will not pass to your landing page (i.e. SEO will not be as effective).
